Three interesting things about me:

1. I can speak Portuguese. I love learning new languages 2. I love cold weather, snow and rain, is heaven for me. 3. I have two older brothers who inspire me every day with their endeavours. I am grateful for my family.

I like to live my life by the following quote. "They may forget the things you did or the things you said but they will never forget the way you made them feel." I have played competitive sport for many years. I have been coaching adults, teens and children for 2 years in Dubai. I find it extremely rewarding to see how having a positive and caring approach to people when coaching can have a big impact on their performance and overall well-being.

What areas of fitness do you specialise in?
I specialise in CrossFit, Olympic weightlifting, Strongman, and Netball.

What are your fitness thoughts & experience?
From my experience fitness is an outlet for people to relieve stress and release positive endorphins. Fitness is so much more than physical shape it's your wellbeing and mental health also.

If you could pass on one piece of training advice to a member at Max & Aegle what would it be?
My advice would be to never focus on anyone else but yourself, never compare, and always be humble. We all have weaknesses and strengths, if training was easy it wouldn't be rewarding. Embrace the challenge, what was once a hard workout will one day be your warm-up.

What workout do you like best, and why?
I love a mix of strongman and CrossFit. Training with sandbags is humbling the weight always feels twice as heavy. I have found you can do countless sit-ups but you will not feel your core as much as you will doing sandbag front squats. Mixing strength with gymnastics and conditioning will always be challenging and varied I like it because it will keep you in peak condition and it will never get boring.

What’s your favourite part of the club?
I of course love the CrossFit area as it has so many of the same friendly faces every day but the cafe is a close second because of the food Haha.

Why did you become a PT?
I always had a desire to help people and for many years I was trying different paths in mind, I was a member at a CrossFit box and the owner offered me a coaching internship, within a few days of the internship I could see that this was my path. I could help people move safely, feel better and be better not just on the outside and with movement but on the inside also.

If you weren’t a PT what would you be, and why?
I would be a ski instructor. There is no better feeling than skiing in the snowy mountains and being able to give someone the tools, techniques, and confidence to experience that for themselves would be amazing.
